BRITISH COAL MINERS.
EMPLOYMENT IRREGULAR, LONDON, June 9. The executive of the Miners’ Federation has issued a statement that wages are so low on many of the coalfields, and employment so irregular, that workers and their families are undergoing appalling haulships.—A. and N.Z. cable. families almost STARVNG, LONDON, Juno 8. Mr Stephen Walsh, member of the House of Commons for luce, Lancashire, addressing the Labour Conference, pointed out that thousands of miners’ families were almost starving, and were forced to seek poor law relief. The Federation protested against the decision of some districts to refuse unemployment payment because the minors refused to accept wages below the district rates. —A. and N.Z. cable.
