SPORTING.
One oi the host known racing enthusiasts in Now Zealand, Mr Arthur Law, of Wellington, is at present lying seriously ill, WANGANUI TRAINING NOTES. (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, March 17. Thu weather was fine this morning for the final gallops. The track was heavy after the rain last night. Santiago went five furlongs in 1.4. Kyoto and Manchester six. in 1.20, Coalition and Scion seven in 1,36, Left live in 1.4. Correspondent finished in front of Wlumoko and Wamba at tiie end of a mile run in 1.47. Matntna and Ethiopian did a round over the hurdles, the latter showing to most advantage. Demos and Yankee Dan did six furlongs in 1.20, Tame Fox and Hyttus seven in 1.32, Mort Avis and Kato five in 1.5. Sturdce and Dumper did a round of the big fences, both jumping well. Gladful and Birkenolla went a mile in 1.48. Riiui.ua and Spook did seven furlongs in 1.33. Alteration did a round of the hurdles, jumping well.
