WEDNESDAY LOM PETITIONS. WINS FOR ALBION, RETAILERS, RIA ORA. 'The weather was clear but cold yesterday for the continuation ol the Wednesday cricket, competitions on the Sporlsgroumi. Ihe wicket was fair, being rather in favour ol the batsmen. Albion gained a two-point win from Y.1V1.C.A., the scores being 178 and 84 respectively. Retailors had an easy victory over Phoenix, winning by four wickets and 104 runs, while Ria Ora finished only three runs ahead of Gordon. The following are the details: Y.M.G.A. v. ALBION. The Y.M.G.A. team hatted first and netted 84 runs, the biggest individual score being made by Sinclair who was batting strongly when bowled by McSue.mey, with 2;) to liis credit. Next on the list came Marlin with 17, and then Newell 16, Gallicliaii took three wickets for 34 runs and McSwcenoy took live for 48. Replying, Albion compiled 178 runs, Saywell carrying Ins bat for 79, including two sixes and six fours. Galliehau scored 28, and was followed by Eyre (20).
