TROUBLE WITH STOKERS.
MAHENO DELAYED IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, March 9. The Mahono. which was dire to sail to-day, is hung up owing to a dispute in tho ongineroom. It is statin:! that trouble was experienced holoro tho vessel left New Zealand and more occurred during the voyage, as a result of which several stokers were given notice. This was resented by the r(mainder, who also gave notice. Fire company, unable to till the vacancies, decided'to reinstate the men. The engineers thereupon refused to sail il tho men were allowed to resume, claiming that tlioy would have dillieulty in maintaining order in their department with the same stokers.—Press Association.
