For (he Methodist centenary celebrations about 230 ministers 'and visitors (ravelled from Auckland and proceeded to the cann where welcome addresses were given by. the natives. The president and other prominent ministers replied, and then the cairn was dedicated hv unveiling memorial tablets with appropriate religious services. A specially designed flag to become the aymbo of the Maori Church was also dedicated ami was down from the top of the cairn. Hie foundation stone of the Memorial Church was laid in the afternoon.
