THE MANGAHAO TUNNELS.
WORK STILL AT A. STANDSTILL. The Innnellers’ strike at Mangahao is still in progress, it being just a month since work ceased (says, yesterday's Levin Chronicle). The time has not been altogether wasted, as full u?e has been made of the opportunity to push on with concreting work. In the mean,lime tenders have been called for the carrying out of the tunnelling by co-operative contract by parties of workers. These tenders were to close to-day, and it is expected that tunnelling will shortly be in full progress again. It is staled (hat a large number of lenders have been pul in for the various contracts offered.
