A garde fete was held litis afternoon in the beautifi grounds -at the rear of (lie residence of Mr K. C. (Hr.) Harnett, ip Fit/Jicrhert sired in order to raise- funds <so that the experts of providing accommodation for eight add tional children of tender years might h defrayed. Five of these small children ar already in the home ami it- is hoped Iha tlie garden party will provide very accept able funds. Various stalls bearing an ai tractive array of saleable articles have bee set up. The following ladies are ofliciatin at thi‘ stalls, under the supervision of Mi Harnett, who organised (lie function:Miss Murray and. Mrs McConnon. sweets Miss Mayo, ice cream; Mrs McDonald, an Mrs Free, produce; Mesdamcs Sinclair an (I. Bennett, sewing work; Mesdamc Aitehison and Collins, a Iter noon tea. Th ladies of the Board of Management Itav gone to considerable pains to ensure th success of the gathering, and their effort deserve a big success.
