BOROUGH BY-LAWS.
The question of private car stands and lights on motor cars was broached by Ci\ Oram at the mooting ol the Borough Council Inst evening. lie stated that only that morning a country resident had been lined because the tail light 011 bis car was not burning when the vehicle was on the stand with its back to the footpath. The Council, he said, should remove irksome and useless, by-laws such as this. It, would he in thi' interests of the town to make the by-laws us sensible as possible so that country residents would be attracted to the town. It things went on as at present, outsiders would not come into the town lor fear oi being lined under some ''impossible'' by-law. _ He moved that a sub-committee, consisting of Crs. Neodhiint. West and hiinsoll. be set up to confer with the engineer for the purpose of revising the by-laws. The motion was passed, and ii was agreed that the police be consulted before any definite recommendations were framed.
