Armstrong states that he is retiring from international and inter-State matches. He said hojhnd been badly misrepresented in the English and Australian papers, but what he said m England was the truth, and he would repeat it.. The team had had a trying time, but it was wonderful how the ast howlers had performed at times when thev could hardly stand. Armstrong, Macartney and Bardsley are not playing in the Sheffield Shield match to-day.
