SCULLING CHAMPIONS.
(Per Press Association.) WANGANCI, Dee. 23. Quite it large number of enthusiasts visited the championship sculling course today, and watched Arnsl and lladlield at work. Both arc now fairly wound up, and judging by the manner in which each got through the water to-day, they will provide a iuo.nl exciting contest on January sth. Arnsl does not employ a pacemaker, depending on his own judgment, lie has gol down to list 711), and declares thai, he is just, as he wants io be. lladlield is a stone lighter than Arn-t. which is the weight ai which iie lias rowed all his races. There was a. strong head wind to-day, hid both men pan up fast times. Neither appeared al all distressed.
