MANAWATU HUNT.

On Saturday afternoon member.* of the Muimwatu J J mil assembled at To Matai for tho second run of tho .season, which proved highly onjoyable, there being a large muster. All congregated at Iho homestead of jjie president, Mr S. R. Lancaster, and no delay ensued in getting away. Tie afternoon yielded two runs over capital hunting country, and the overcast nature of the weather failing to mar the oujojment, spectators were numerous. Mr E. Short, formerly Master of the Hunt, was present as an onlooker and he was cordially welcomed on all sides. Those in. the saddle enjoyed the two runs immensely and only one rider suffered, tho misfortune of a fall, which was not serious. Aflcrnooh tea was provided by Mr and Mrs Lancaster, and those who partook of this hospitality demonstrated their appreciation. b\ a vote of thanks and hearty cheers. Mr Lancaster expressed his interest in the sport and extended a hearty welcome ':o the hunt on subsequent occasions. Property owners were also _ accorded a vote of thanks. It was decided that next Saturday the' hunt should assemble at Miffing, on the old Sando.ll road, when the throw.off will be on the property of Mr D. W. Reid.
