SLUGGISH RIVER DRAINAGE BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. Tho regular meeting of tho Sluggish River Drainage Boar was held this mornim and attended by Messrs R. Murphy (cfittiruwii), 'W. B. V. Pearoo, H. Wilton, I'. A. Grummcr and J. Boyce. The action of the trustees m fixing the prico of the work on the inam dram done by Mr R, Brown at £27 was approved. In replv to,a letter by.MrjH. Bond, it was resolved to inform tho writer that tho Board was not responsible for tho costof cleaning any but board drains. - • Tho following tenders were accepted: Contract No. 124, cleaning and draining, Messrs Wilson and Hears, at 4s 5d per chain; contract No. 128, cleaning and draining Messrs Morgan-and-Guy well, .-at 2s 6d per chain. It was decided to call tenders for cleaning the second portion _of the Buinesso drains, amounting to 278$ chums, to close on April 24. It was also decided that Mr Pearco be permitted to. take biit ; sturnps and roots in,tho main drain above the concrete bridge at a maximum, cost of £5. Accounts amounting to £IBO is 3d were passed for payment.
