Captain Bernech, a retired sea captain, formerly in, the Union Steamship Company’s service, died suddenly in the street last night. Ho was 74 years of age. A collision took place at Carterton ;on Friday night between a motor-oar driven by Mr L W. Knight and a buggy driven bv Mr L. W.
