SYDNEY. Feb. 16. The Parliamentary Labour Party favoured the retention of proportional representation by a considerable majority. The. decision needs ratification by th" Labour conference, which last year requested the repeal of tho Act. It was announced at a meeting of sporting bodies that nine organisations had accepted and live had rejected tho proposed definition of an amateur. It was decided to recommend the Sporting Federation to adopt the definition—Press Association.
