; . . ROME, Jail. 28. Socialists have-declared a goneraj strik< in Florence; interrupting tlio railways-be-tween Rome and Northern Italy. Serious brushes occurred'at Florence between the Socialists and anti-Socialists. .The latter ivcrd armed with revolvers, and traversed the citv in motor -cars. A pitched battle occurred in a street, but ceased upon the arrival of the Carabineers and Royal Guards in armoured cars. Several people were wounded. A train which hud been abandoned at Pis toga, was manned by ."i 1 emergency staff and resumed its journey, but it was subsequently ambushed, armed men lirimr on the locomotive.
