SOCIAL FUNCTIONS.
There were about 50 couples present "t the Manawatu Hockey Association’s dance, held in the .Returned Soldiers’ Ciuli last evening, the proceeds of which are to lie devoted to sending a ladies’ representative hockey team from Palmerston North to compete at the Gisborne tournament, 1 ' Mr A 7. Tucker acted as Af.C. and the Returned Soldiers’ orchestra provided the music.
