TWO TO HE ERECTED AT
ABATTOIRS
The Housing Committee of the Borough. Council reported at last night s meeting of the Council as follows: That as workers’ dwellings are urgently re<iuired at the abattoirs, the next two he erected there, and that the recent resolution of the Council deciding to erect a further two adjacent to those already in course of erection on the reserves he held over.—J his course was agreed to. . In this connection the Borough engineer reported;— Good progress is being made with the two cottages now in course of erection. The plastering ol the inside walls of No. j cottage is
practically completed. Plumbing and painting are now being done, and the whole of the sashes and fanlights are made, and will he glazed as soon as glass comes to hand, which is expected in the course of a few days. 1 have great hopes that No. 1 cottage will be ready for the tenant within three weeks. The engineer added that the sewer for the dwellings was being constructed, and that two chains bad already been completed. “THE UTMOST SATISFACTION The Mayor stated that lie bad in-
