AORERE WRECKED.
ON RANGITIKEI BEACH. Tho small coastal steamer Aorere is rciKirUd to be a total Wreck on Rangitikei beach. Very heavy weathor has been experienced during the past few days, and during the gale the vessel went ashore. LATER INFORMATION. Telephone communication with Hulls this afternoon elicited the information that tho Aorere went ashore on Sunday night at 5 o'clock at a spot 5 miles below the Rangitikei Heads. The captain and crew were all saved. The Aorere, which is of 70 tons burden, was running between' Blenheim and Wanjranui with a cargo of barley and chaff when tho mishap occurred. The vessel was in command of Captain Crotty. ' The weather at the tune was very bad, a heavy westerly gale with a big sea runnin S- . . , , „ r r Tho Aorere is receiving the hill force, of the heavy seas and there is very little hope of saving her from becoming n total wreck.
