COLONIAL REPRESENTATIVES.

ENTERTAINED IN LONDON. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association LONDON, Jan. 10. The Australian and New Zealand Luncheon Club entertained Sir C. G. Wade (Agent-General for New South Wales) arid Major Sir F. B. Robinson (AgentGeneral for Queensland) in the presence of a distinguished gathering. Rt. Hon. A. Fisher presided. He paid a warm tribute to the late Sir Edmund Barton as a man of rare genius for the post of first Prime Minister of Australia. _He was a great statesman, patriot and jurist. Lt.-Colonel Amery (Under-Secretary for the Colonies) alluded to the late Sir Edmund Barton as a great mental power and a patriotic statesman. Ho said the loss of two leaders of men like Sir Edmund Barton and Rt. Hon. A. Dcakin was a heavy blow to Australia.

Referring to Sir C. G. Wade and Sir F. B. Robinson, he said that his personal experience of the records of the Colonial Office showed that both had' done yeoman service for their States and for tho Commonwealth.

Sir F. B. Robinson, referring to the varied duties of an Agent-General, said if he were credited witli per cent, on the indent work done during the year be.would show a substantial immigration and advertising work being thrown in gratis. , Sir C. G. Wade commented on the demand for unification. Agents had _ always endeavoured to speak with one voice and act in harmony while pushing the rights of their own States.
