At Aldington market to-day-there was an average yarding of fat cattle, but a small' entry of'lambs and a moderate yarding- ol fat sheep. Beef prices remained firm at recent rates,.but mutton advanced about 5s on recent rates, and lambs improved in value about 3s on the sale preceding Christmas, when there was a pjlufc. A total of 70C fat lambs were penned, compared with -3400 at tile double sale on December 18, Extra prime lambs to 345, prime 29s 6d to 33s 3d, medium 24s 7d to 28s 6d, lighter 18s to 24s 6d. There was a big yarding of store slieep, including a number from the Chatham Isolds, which topped the market. Prices were about two shillings easier than at the pro-holiday sales. Forward 4, 6, and b-tooth wethers, 29s 6d to 31s 9i\, ordinary 26s 6d to 28s 6d. inferior 255; good 2-tooth wethers 24s 4d. inferior 35s 9d to 17s lOd ; lambs, 21s to 235; cull lambs, 12s 3d; woolly mixed sex hoggets, 31s; cv.'es and lambs. 14s to 16s; cull ewes and lambs, lis; good 4. 6. avd-3-tooth cues. 28s to 31s D<l> 2-toot|i ewes. 26s 6d. Between live and six races of tat, sheep were penned. The quality WUS qiiiiri moderate, but prices advanced about 5s per head. Extra prime wethers to 535, prime 42s to 48s; 'medium 37s 8d to 41s 3d; lighter 27s to 375; prime cues 36s lo 40s, medium 31s lOd tp 35s 4d. lighter 23s 9d to 51s. Three hundred and ninety-live fat cattle were yarded, prices being firmly maintained. Extra prime steers to £33 ss, prime £23 to £2B, medium £l7 to £22, lighter £9 to £l6, prime heifers £l3 10s to £2l 10s, lighter £7 7s 6d to £l2 7s 6d, extra prime cows to £23 10s. Store cattle formed a moderate entry, which 'mot with a keener demand than recently. A line of thred-year steers made up to £l2 15s. There was an average entry of dairy cows, and the demand was good. Superior duiry cows made to £l4 15s. A' fair supply of vealevs was penned. Runners made up to £8 ss, good vealcrs 30s to 555, fair to ,medium £l6 to £27 6s! There was a big' yarding' of pigs, and a good demand. Choppers to £lO, extra heavy baconers £9 ss, heavy.baconers £6 10s to £7 5s (average price per lb, lid, Hid); heavy. 1 porkers to. £5, 'ordinary' to £4 5s (average price per lb, 12d).
