PROPORTIONS TO POPULATION
The official figures of the losses of the Allies up to the armistice are published in a report by M. Louis Maris, reporter .)f the Public Commission of the French Chamber.
In killed and missing alone the following are the figures:—
France's total ; of wounded was 2,800,000. The expenses of the war amounted to 159,000 million francs, nominally £b',360,000.000. The losses in the table given above represent the following proportion :
An official British statement issued in August last, gave the casualties of the aimies of the British Empire as: Killed, 666,833; wounded, 2,0-10,520; missing and prisouors, 354,568; total, 3.061,921.
