PRINCE'S VISIT.

PRINCESS NOT TO MAKE TRIP.

LONDON, Dec. 21

Reai--Admiral,Sir Lionel Halsey, Captain E. W. M. Grigg, and Commander Dudley North, who remain on the Prince of Wales' staff, are likely to be irvited to accompany him to Australia, in similar capacities to those in which they travelled to Canada. Captain Grigg was formerly the Dominions editor of the Times. He visited the Commonwealth, and wrote a brilliant series of articles, and became editor of the, Round Table. He was General Staff Officer to the Guards Division during the war, and is the Prince's political adviser. He is reputed to be largely responsible for the Prince's outstanding statements interpreting the Dominions' nationalism. Commander Dudley North served on the dreadnought New Zealand, and was .Admiral Halsey's favourite staff officer. If; is officially stated that the appointments to the Prince's staff will not be made for some time. . FULL CEREMONIALS.

The visit will be a lull State visit, Cfinp/ete with J'oyal ceremonials. Princess ilary is anxious to accompany her brother; -to whom she is warmly attached but' it is unlikely that her wish will be granted, because it would be impossible to accommodate her on a battleship, and the King and Queen do not desire to remove a liner from the important repatriation, trade and. reconstruction work. _. ,_ LONDON, Pec. 23.
