SENATOR UNDERWOOD'S ULTIMATUM.

Senator Underwood has notified the Senate tlmt unless the Peace Treaty deadlock is broken within a week he intends to press a resolution calling on the Bipartiza Committee to attempt to reach an agreement by a compromise. The negotiations are proceeding so far without effect.

The .Minister for Finance, speaking in the Chamber ot Deputies, stated thai Franco was already able, thanks to Germany, to pay fifteen milliard marks for military pensions and ten milliards for the benefit of the occupied districts.

SUNKEN GERMAN FLEET.

The Admiralty salvage ships carried out extensive soundings at Scapa' Flow, and reported to the Allied Commission which, guided by the results of the soundings, has decided to blow up the German ships. Dr. Hellforoich says: "Our motto must be: Work, hope, light." Admiral Meirer, who commanded the Baltic squadron, has issued an order of the day describing as a "glorious deed'' the scuttling of the fleet at Scapa Flow, declaring that the ships were handed over through a "disgraceful breath of contract." - ,
