At the .conference with, the officials ol the Tramway Federation yesterday, the Mayor - of Wellington stated that lie did not see that any .good would . follow an-, other Dominion conference. At the last coii.feirerico wdticb was held the entire controlling authorities held that a national agreement was 'impracticable owing to the widely different conditions, in each centre. The Wellington City Council was quite prepared to at once open up negotiations for a hew agreement, The rates paid to tramwaymen in Wellington have been increased, by Id per, bom' from Ist January, in accordance with a- xCeeiit autioimeement by the Arbitrati’bn Court.
