BOUNTEOUS RAINFALL.

Bounteous rains over a wide range ot grazing areas have enhanced prospects oi feed and stopped the rush on the stock market. which marked the drought period, and also rushed up the prices of beef bn the hoof, which sold to lOd per pound, a record. The retail butchers from to-day advance prices 25 per cent. Many are cutting out beef as being too dear to handle Ho far the worst of the western drought ai|eas have benefited little by the rain., DECREASE IN MINERAL OUTPUT.
Preliminary figures indicate a consider ably decreased mineral output in 1919 corn pared with 1918, mainly due to the drought and industrial troubles.
