UNPRECEDENTED FLOTATIONS.

Companies registered in London during the ]iast six months reached tbo unprecedented total of 5415fwit-li a capital of £252,000,000. Textiles and clothing’ represent £30,000,000, mines £24,000,000. shipping £22,000,000, banks and financial companies £22,00,Q,000, oil £20.000.000, motors £18,000,000; food £14,000,000, insurance £10,000,000, ami cinemas £6,000,000. Fortv eight of the companies have an aggregate capital of- £90.000,000. Compared’ with 1913, when there were only 21.000’ companies which had over £1,000,-’ 000 average capital, the number in 1919 is 45,000. A number of the companies, are lamed’on profit-sharing and co-part-nership.
