THE LICENSING REFERENDUM.
PROHIBITION MINORITY 2875,
All but three of the official returns of votes cast at the licensing poll have now reached the Electoral Department. The returns still to come are from Gisborne Taranaki and Wanganui. The official totals are now as follow; Continuance 240,630 State Purchase 32,018Prohibition ' 269,773 The combined Continuance-State Purchase majority against Prohibition is 28/5 votes. Ihe Prohibition total is now 1438 votes short of an absolute majority.
