The first innings of the above match was played on the Sports Ground yesterday afternoon, and the closing score for the day showed the Nomads’ team to be leading by 111 runs; Mahawatu, batting first, were disposed of for 5t runs, their highest scorers being Ashford 15, and Leot 14; Bcrnau, the Nomads’ left handed bowler, trundled exceptionally yvell, securing 5 wickets for 30 runs.
