Tho latest development in the shipping trouble is an ultimatum issued by the Stewards and Pantrymen’s Association, demanding increases in pay ranging from 22 to 27i per cent. They also demand overtime pay for Sundays and holidays, an eight-hour day while at sea and at intermediate port», a six-hour day while in terminal ports, a month’s holiday for the chief steward and a fortnight for ranks on full pay. i
