WAR BONUS INCREASED.

LONDON, Jan. 3
Newspapers officially report that the result of the negotiations for the standardising of the railwaymen’s wages, which have been proceeding since the October strike, has a further increase of the war bonus by 5s weekly, making it 38s in all grades until September, when it will be periodieally increased or reduced by Is for every 5 per cent, increase or reduction in the cost of living; but the wages, plus the bonus, permanently remain at'least double the prewar ivagcs. Tims the lowest paid porter will receive 56s weekly until September, compared with. 18s/the pre-war rate. The subsequent minimum must, never fall below 495.
