ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.

Mr Ernost Walker, an elderly man, died suddenly at Titroc Point, Dannevirke, on Saturday from hemorrhage of the brain. Ho was a single man and had no relatives in the Dominion. The Dannevirkc-Pongaroa mail car capsized over a bank near Pongaroa on Saturday evening. The driver, Mr I. Mill, sustained a number of bruises and was rendered unconscious, having to bo removed to Pongaroa cottage hospital, but is now able to get about again. Mr 11. Woods, who was a passenger in the car, escaped without injury, but the vehicle was badly damaged. An unfortunate accident befell a young girl named Alary Coombes, at the New Plymouth breakwater on New Year’s Day. A motor fatality is reported to have occurred on the road between Mt. Holdsworth and Carjtcrton yesterday. Details are meagre,, but a ear driven by a man named Hayes is said to have overturned, and Mrs Hayes killed outright.

The victim of the accident was Mrs Louise Hew wife of Mr J. B. Iley, motor engineer) of Cartel ton. In company with some '-.friends, Mr and Mrs Hey had visited the mountain.
