CONCLUSION OF TOURNAMENT. W. SEIFERT WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. Considerable interest was ovinced in the. concluding round of the Summer Championship played on tho Manawatu Club's links on Wednesday afternoon. The game was evenly contested, and resulted in W. Seifert winning. He had been runner-up in many championships, but this was the first occasion on which he had secured the majority, or rather tho minority, of points in a championship contest. Dr. Gilray, E G. Sim, and H. L. Young, with a score of 332 each, were second. In conjunction with the last round of thd championship a bogey competition, of which Mr Hugo Freeth was tho winner, was also played. The prize-giving ceremony took place at tho conclusion of the tournament. Mr T. A Moodie, vice-president of the Manawatu Club, presided, and in welcoming the visitors referred to the success of the tournament. He saio. that he hoped /the. tournament would become an annual fixture. Mr W L. Fitzherbert concurred with the rtv marks made bv Mr Moodie, and' Mrs W. L. Fitzherbert distributed the prizes Mr R. C.
