MARTON JOCKEY CLUB'S MEETING, i CUP WON BY ORATRESS. RAH/WAY HANDICAP, BINDLE. Tho success attending tho Marten Jockey Club's mooting yesterday reflects the increased interest that' is being taken in this fixture. Favoured with ideal weather visitors from all parts ol the district put. in an appearance in strong force.''Palmorston folk in particular being well represented. Although i the fields in some of tho events wore small, the contests all through were interesting. Oratress won tho Cup in brilliant style, and being owned locally, was well received. Bindle, followed by Ruddy,'made the pace torrid in tho Railway Handicap, but at tho straight entrance the latter tired badly. 80-peep finished at a great rate, but had no chance Avith Bindle. who carved the six furlongs out in 1.12 2-5. In all respects the meeting was- well managed by Mr Arthur Way, and altogether the , gathering was easily the' most success- ' ful in the history of the club.
