HIGH COST OF NOOSES.
HANGMAN’S HARD TIME. LONDON. Deo. 16. In the House of Commons to-day a private member complained that the hangman was the only public servant who had not received a war bonus. He and his assistants were out of pocket every time they attended an execution. Major Baird, Under-Secrctary to the Homo Office, replied ho had received no application for an increase in the hangman*s tees.
