ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
DEATH BY POISONING. A retired builder, Mr I rank Burbush, aged 66 years, died at his residence, victoria street, Hamilton, on Sunday, as the result of taking prussic acid. At the inouost evidence was given to the effect trial deceased had been depressed for some time past. On Saturday night he retired to bed at an early hour, and at midnight his wife found him very ill. She summoned a doctor, but death occurred before ho arrived. A glass was found near the bod and a. bottle containing a little prussic acid. The coroner found that death was due to prussic acid poisoning, self-admin-istered while of unsound nupd. BOY DROWNED IN LAKE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 30. William Hall, aged 15i years, was drowned in a lake at Craigieburn this morning. Ho was out shooting, and waded into the lake to discover a bird ho had brought down, and got out of his depth. His body was recovered some time later.
