If Mr Justice Sankev’s decision is upheld by the House of Lords, it will .be necessary to introduce a. bill in 1920 indemnifying the Government for its seizures of goods under proclamation. ■Tins decision has delighted free trader: '"Sir John Simon, in an interview, said that the whole embargo system had been blown skybigh. The 'Government has announced that it is appealing against the San key judgment. Mr Justice Sankcy declared that the proclamation issued by the Government did not give it power to prohibit the importation of ordinary commodities.
