MANAWATU RACES. CONCLUDING DAY. LIVERPOOL HANDICAP—MAIOHA. KAWAU HANDICAP—LIONSKIN. Tho weather was gloriously fmo for the concluding day of tho Manawatu Racing Club’s summer meeting, when there was again a large attendance ot sporting folic present. The various, events wei’e closely contested, and tho afternoon’s sport passed off in great style.

Mr J. E. Henrys is to be complimented on his adjustments on all three days, while Mr A. Keith’s starting was up to tho usual high, standard. Tho totalisator arrangements, under the charge of Mr H. G. Bagnall, were conducted in excellent style. There was a great number of investors, and the various officials, who were hard at work to provide facilities for investments, did thoir work expeditiously. The dividends were posted promptly, and those who wore lucky enough to visit tho “payout” part of tho machine found their wants attended to with dispatch, there being no hitch of any kind. Those who attended at Awapuni to witness the races possess a vey slight knowledge of the large amount of work t.> be done to provide all the necessary facilities for their convenience,, and it is but right that tho secretary, Mr J. M. Johnston, should receive his due share of praise for tho unvarying excellence of the arrangements. The amount put through the machines for the day totalled £54.838. making a total for the three days of £172,525.
