BROKEN HILL MINERS,
A PROTRACTED STRIKE.

After a strike lasting nine months the Broken Hill miners are still firm in their resolution not to return until granted twenty shillings daily for a six hours’ day, and tho abolition of tho contract system. MARINE ENGINEERS* STRIKE. MEN WILL NOT RESUME. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association, Received December 30, 10.5 a.m. SYDNEY. Deo. 50. A mass meeting of marine engineers decided not to resume until their original demands are conceded It is estimated that there are now 12,000 men idle in tho various States. MELBOURNE, Dec. 30. As the result of tho marine engineers' strike tho Coal Board has introduced ooul rationing. It has decided to withhold supplies from non-essential industries. DOCK STRIKE ENDED. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. CAPETONVN, Dec. 28. Tho Dock Strike Committee, alleging lack of support from the Railwaymen’s Union and Trades’ Federation, has called tho strike off.
