APPRECIATION.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir,-—Will you allow me to express my sincere thanks to those who so kindly contributed to rny annual appeal for distressed families for Christmas. The sum of £llO was raised, nearly seventy Ironies were reached, and the gifts were much appreciated by the recipients,, I have to thank the clfaiitable aid officer (Mr Aisher), Sister Maclean (district nurse), also some of t,bo ministers of the churches for sending mo lists, and these, added to those of whom I had personal knowledge, enabled, us to reach the bulk of the homes. The gifts in cash were sent on behalf of the citizens of Palmerston North.—l am, etc., J. A. NASH, Mayor.
