It is reported that Republican mild roservationists will request Senator Hitchcock to outline the basis of the compuonih'c into which tho Democrats will enter. This outline will be submitted to Senator Lodge. In the event of. his refusing to enter into any compromise they will repudiate his leadership in the Senate and attempt independently to formulate a coinpromise on 'the treaty, which will 'be as. sured tho requisite numbre of votes in the l Senate.

Mr L'oyd George, presiding at a lecture at Llanvs'tumdwy, said that America's failure to ratify the Peace Treaty illustrated the folly of prematurely returning t« party warfare before the difficulties resulting from the groat war had boon settled.
