It is reported in Berlin that Herr Ktmo, director of the Hamburg-Ame-rika Line, told his friends that the Gorman Government intends to grant a subsidy of 1,500,000,000 marks to rebuild Germany’s mercantile marine. A son has been bom to Princess Patricia Ramsay (the Princess who married a commoner). Dr. T. J. MacNamara, speaking in tho House of Commons, in reply to a. question, said that the Admiralty, were enquiring with a view to obtaining orders for tho construction of merchantmen. The Admiralty would also favourably consider any proposals to utilise Devonport as tho terminal for merchantmen. According to a Bucharest message, when Carol, Crown Princ'o of Ron mania,, was ordered to regain his regiment lie attempted suicide with a revolver.
