THE TRAVELLING PUBLIC. Railway officials are working under high pressure to cope with the immense amount of trailio occasioned by the season and the excursion fares. Yesterday’s first Auckland exprcaJ going North was packed, to the exclusion of numbers of passengers from Palmerston North who had neglected to reserve seats. An hour afterwards the second express drew in, and the overflow wore accommodated in a train of phenomenal length. The down express this morning was not crowded to any extent, but all other trains have been carrying tremendous freights.
