A bowing match for the pairs trophy, which took somewhat extraordinary turns, was played on tho Otaki green on Saturday, when Williams and Noble met and defeated Jackson and Sathorley, 27—26. A second pairs match was played botween, A. Smith and Satherloy v. Jackson and Petrie, tho former pair winning 20—17. ' A special meeting of the OJaki Bowling Club was held on Friday night for tho I purpose of considering the alteration of a rule, but the point was raised that members responsible for the meeting were unfinancial and in consequence no business ' was transacted.
