Many people would agree that the illuminated trade signs along the boutn front of the Thames furnish a good argument for extending the powers of the London County Council, says a Daily News writer. The residents of the boroughs in which the signs exist seldom see them. It is the wayfarer along the Embankment whose dreams are disturbed by the twinkling of coloured appeals. I am reminded of President Wilson s self-protecting limerick, composed when his features began to bo displaced in the press:— In beauty I am not a star: There are many men handsomer tar, But my face, I don't mind it.
