FORESTERS' CHRISTMAS TREE.
Another very enjoyable function took place in the Foresters' Hull on Friday evening lust, when the members of Court Manawatu (as has been the custom for the past seven or eight years) provided a Christ, mas tree for their children and friends. The hall was 1 packed, despite the weather conditions. Before the arrival of Father Christmas a most enjoyable musical programme was arranged by the secretary, iiro. A. J. Yortt, consisting of songs, fancy dances, recitations, and a pianoforte solo, and the items were much appreciated by those present. The Christmas tree was beautifully decorated with gilts from Father Christmas and he arrived at the hall at 9 p.m. and distributed them among the children present, after which the hall was cleared and a pleasant hour was spent by the children in games and dancing. Refreshments were then handed round by the ladies and the rest of the evening was spent in dancing for the adults. The function was brought to a close at 11.30 p.m. ai;d cheers were I given" for Father Christ/has. !
