CHESS IN COMMONS.
CAPADLANCA WINS 36 GAMES.
LONDON. Dec. 3.
The exhibition by the young Cuban chess champion, Cupablanca, when lie played 38 members of the House of Commons, provided an unusual diversion in the House, Ho commenced at 4.15 p.m., and was watched by a continuous stream of members, including Mr Bonar Law and other leaders of the House. Play was linlshc'; at 8.20 p.m., Capablanca winning 30 games and two being drawn.
The Financial Secretary to the •Treasury stated in the House of Commons recently that the number of members, excluding Sinn Fearers, who are refusing to accept their salaries is six.
