POLICE COURT.

At the Police Court this morning, bofore Mr M. A. Eliott, J.P., a juvenile offender, charged with the theft of money to the value of £22 10s Bd, and a metal watch valued at 7s bd, the propertv of Mr W. 11. Huston, of 18 William street, was remanded to appear before a Magistrate at to-morrow's sitting of the Court. SeniorSergeant Fruser; who appeared for the police and asked for the remand on the ground of insufficient; evidence, stated thnt the lad was an escapee from" the Weraroa Training Farm. The boy had come into town and had entered Mr Huston's dwelling, from which he hud stolen the money and the watch." With • the money thus grained, accused had bought a new suit/of clothes, two shirtfl, an electric torch with refill, and a now purse. He had then gono to the station and was in the act of buying a railway ticket when apprehended by Constable Ferguson. Two further escapees from Weraroa, Joseph Wilson and James Boyco, wore charged that on December 12, 1919, at Shannon, they did break and enter tho dwelling house of McGregor Robert Downs and did steal therefrom goods, to the value, of £5 6s. Qenior-Sergeant Fraecr again asked for a remand pending further evidence, and a remand until December 22 was granted.
