TVTOTIG.E. is hereby given that it is lei! the. intention of the Palmerston NorLji-Kairaiiga River Board to-borrow from the State Advances Oflice, the sum of seven thousand pounds,' under the provisions of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913,” for a period of thirty-six years, at 5-1 per cent, per annum ; plus L per cent, sinking fund, for the following purposes, viz.: — The construction of protective works at the Fitzroy Bend, and Anderson’s Bend, on the Manawatu river, in accordance with a scheme prepared by the Public Works Department, and adopted by the Palmerston North-Kairanga River Board. For the payment of interest, sinking i fund, and other charges in the said loan, the Palmerston North-Kairanga River Board purposes making a Special Rate on the unimproved value on alt properties situated in the Board’s district, in the following proportions:— Class A, a rate of l-4tli of a penny in the £. Class B, a rate of l-Bth of a penny in the £. Class C, a rate of l-20th of a penny in the £. Such rate to bo an annually recurring rate for 36 years, or until the loan is fully paid off. EXTRA Express Trains, making the usual stops of the Ordinary Expresses, will run between Wellington and Auckland as under:— Leave WELLINGTON 2.0 p.im, Palmerston North 5.14 p.m., Foiiding 5.39 p.m., Marten ,6.41 p.m. daily (except Sundays, 21st and 28th December' and 4th January), from 18th December to Btb January inclusive; AUCKLAND arrive 7.50 a.m. This train also stops at Waimarino and Owliango. During the running of this Express the ordinary 12.45 p.m. WellingtonAuckland Express will NOT take, up passengers at Palmerston North, Mercer, or intermediate stations. Passengers from these stations must travel by the Extra Express leaving Wellington at 2.0 p.m., or by the Express leaving Palmerston North on 22nd, 23rd and 24th December and 2nd January only, at 2.35 p.m. The Ordinary 4.15 p.m. WanganuiPalmerston North train will connect at Marton with the Wellington-Auckland Express.
