Mr J. 11. )L Coates, formerly /general manager of the National Bank of New Zealand, and more recently a director of the bank resident in London, is a passenger by the Niagara, duo at Auckland to-morrow. The olJiccrs of .-the Headquarters Stall', the Permanent Force, ‘ and the Now Zealand Stall' Corps, assembled in Wellington last evening to bade farewell to Major-General Sir Alfred Robin, late General Officer Commanding the (New Zealand Military Forces, who is proceeding to Samoa to temporarily relieve ' the Administrator, Colonel U. W. Tate, while the latter is on IcaJVo in New Zealand. Major-General Sir Kdward Charter, the new General Ollioer Commanding, was present at the gathering’, which was presided over by Brigadier-General G, S. Richardson, General Officer in Charge of Adminis-. tration. As a token of the esteem in which lie was field. General Robin was presented with, an illuminated address, signed by the officers, together with a large framed photo- 1 graph of the headquarters and district staffs. I
