FIRES IN GERMAN VESSELS.
By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. LONDON, Doc. 16. A serious fire has occurred in the Boonah’s cargo, which included war material and German airplanes. The Boonah was due to leave the Thames to-day There is serious comment on the epidemic of fires in ex-German vessels. Received December 17, 9.25 a.m. The outbreak started amongst the war material shortly before the vessel was ready to proceed to Hull. Outbreaks on exGerman liners recalled are those on the Prinz Hubertus and the Swakopmund. as well as the former German raider c't Kalb in America and the Cap Verde in the Thames last week while loading lor Australia.
